This is wild. I just looked in my calendar to see roughly when we first started recording this record and looks like we started November 18, 2022 😱 3ish years?! Insanity, but also — amazing. We have grown so incredibly much as a band and it’s been so fun to hear our music flow and change and be shaped by our minds. What a cool medium we get to work in and I feels so honored to work with such amazing talented people I’ve somehow tricked into being my friends 😈
It’s a Lot is fun, chaotic, dreamy, emotional musical soup that’s been stewin in that pressure pot for years. I’m so grateful and excited to get to take that lid off of our yummy stew and celebrate with a MUSIC VIDEO too. Yes, we have our very first acted out music video for one of our songs — “Drown in the Stars”. It features Francisco Camacho, our drum liege as the main protagonist of the story. We hope you enjoy not just the album, not just the vinyl, but also the music video too!
I’ve really decided to go all out with this release and I realized that this is the first time I get to celebrate finishing a musical project with others in the real world. All previous releases have been during covid and this time we get to share it with the world in the real life 🥹 to take things even further (because I don’t know how to rest and just keep still), we have a new run of fun merch that we’ll be selling at our upcoming tour. My dear friend David Viera lended his talents once more (has drawn a many rad drawings for my previous business Skin x Bones), and created another beautiful drawing that we decided to turn into stickers and tshirts! We’ve also got jumbo lighters and maybe just maybe I’ll make a limited run of hand carved / hand stampled shirts again <3 we’ll see how much crazier I can get.
